Data collection for local projects
To get any local project off the ground there has to be a proven need. This data collection can take time.
The purpose of this website is to assess need in a number of different areas in Barra and Vatersay. These needs assessments are not connected to any one particular project but will be used as evidence in different projects as they arise.
This current data collection is being done on behalf of Coimhearsnachd Bharraidh agus Bhatarsaidh (Barra and Vatersay Community) Ltd by Beairteas Bharraigh Ltd.

Community Consultation on Craigston
CBAB are also conducting community engagement to ascertain if there is community support to move forward with a feasibility study and business plan for community ownership of Craigston School and Schoolhouse.
It could be that Craigston School and Schoolhouse would make an excellent vehicle for delivering some of the islands need for childcare, housing, project/business space or coworking space, if the above research proves that there is a need in these areas.
